Meet the Team

Kamie Larson, LCSW-QS, RPT ™, CAAPT, CCTP In my 20 plus years of experience as a counselor, I’ve discovered the most powerful healing tool is to reconnect people to the joy of movement and play. Play, laughter and connection are the essential ingredients to create joy in our lives. Through the joy of movement and play, we can heal ourselves and thrive. During the most difficult hardships in my life, movement, humor and play have restored me to peace and sanity. As a lover of people and animals, I have witnessed the healing power of play and connection in both species. Therefore, I choose to use play therapy, and animal assisted psychotherapy techniques in helping people heal. Megan Henszey, LCSW Using a family systems approach, I specialize in helping children and teens navigate complex issues such as anxiety, peer difficulties, depression, trauma, challenges at school, etc. I believe that the most influential pieces of success are early intervention and a strong support system. Because of this belief, I feel passionate about working with not only my clients, but their caregivers as well to implement developmentally-appropriate and child-centered interventions. "I see your pain, and it's big. I also see your courage, and it's bigger. We can do hard things." - Glennon Doyle My passion is helping individuals and families achieve their mental and emotional wellness goals. I believe that diversity, empathy, trust and integrity are crucial parts of growth. I specialize in working with children and adolescents, with my goal always being to maintain a warm, therapeutic environment while adhering to professional and ethical standards. As a clinician, I have the privilege of witnessing individuals overcome immeasurable obstacles and reach their highest potential. I would love the opportunity to assist your child in identifying their needs, developing an actionable plan, and implementing skills that will allow them to reach their goals. Anzu Brown, Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, MSW As we all navigate through the various stages of life, challenges may arise. I work primarily with children and teens suffering from anxiety, school-related issues, behavioral issues, etc. Using a solution-focused approach, I can help guide you to solutions as we work together through the challenges you’re facing. I believe that two major keys to success are early intervention and emotional awareness. With collaboration from caregivers, we can begin to work through life’s challenges. Through my practice, I strive to create a secure therapeutic alliance built on honor and trust. I look forward to assisting your child in developing their emotional repertoire and implementing life skills to allow them to reach their potential. My mission is to be an advocate, as I provide a space of kindness and support. To practice and exemplify growth and change through reflection of experiences. To help foster and build a trust in natural and learned abilities. I want to honor and preserve the mysteries of the universe that guides and protects us all in our personal journeys. “Do not fear death, but rather the unlived life. You don’t have to life forever. You just have to live.” – Natalie Babbitt Nicole Broxson, Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, MSW Growing up isn’t always easy but with an open heart and mind amazing changes can happen. It’s okay to ask for help even if you don’t know what that looks like. I specialize in helping children and adolescents find their voice. My goal is to provide a safe space to help develop a supportive, nonjudgmental, trusting relationship with your child. Whether that’s dealing with big emotions, family changes, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, grief, or simply navigating friendships, I’m here to help. Your growth is important to me and I strive to help you overcome these obstacles. I believe in using diverse child centered interventions that are developmentally appropriate along with a strong support system from caregivers have the most benefit. Changing negative thought patterns and looking at things from a new perspective can be an eye opening experience. Taking the first step can be scary but I promise it’s worth it in the end.
